Case Study 1 – Critical Illness claim
Kee Hong has been my friend and financial planner since my husband introduced him to me in 2006, I would like to thank Kee Hong for providing the excellent service he did for me. He had conducted a thorough financial planning with me and recommended that I took up some coverage for myself, so I did. Since then, Kee Hong has always promptly returning my phone calls and made certain I knew the status of my portfolio. Never did I realise that in year 2007, I was diagnosed with Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE), a disease most commonly referred to as "lupus". This illness had caused me tremendous tremor and requires constant medication and consultation. Knowing that I was contracted with such medical condition, Kee Hong highlighted to me that my condition was covered under the insurance policy that I took up with him in 2006, then he diligently helped me to process my claim and within a month I was able to obtain a reasonable insurance pay-out for this chronic autoimmune disease. As he enhanced my policy with a waiver of premium feature, I continue to enjoy my other coverages since then without any contribution of premiums. Furthermore, I was impressed with the service standard that Kee Hong demonstrated. His customer service is definitely pleasant and outstanding! |

Case Study 2 – Hospitalisation Claim
I was diagnosed with Wolff Parkinson White in Nov 2006 and underwent a series of checks and tests for the condition. By Jan 2007, doctor said I needed a surgery. The medical expenses for the surgery, which includes hospital charges, lab tests and consultation charges, amount to more than $8,000. After the surgery, more medical expenses were incurred as there were more lab tests, follow-up consultations and medicine that I needed to take to control the condition. The total medical bills were quite unexpectedly high and it was really a huge burden to me. Luckily I have a Hospital & Surgical Plan, Manucare that was recommended by my financial planner Keehong in 2005. Back then, Keehong knew that I am a self-employed and highlighted that I was not covered under any medical plans. Without Keehong, I probably will be paying most of the bills using my Medisave funds and cash from my savings. Currently I am still insured with this plan and continue to receive the same coverage without any extra premiums or exclusions. Thanks to Keehong for the recommendation! |
